Aurélia MARIE is a European and French Trademark and Design Attorney. She has been a partner since 2003.
Aurélia started her IP career in 1986 at the Régie nationale des usines Renault. She was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1987 and practised in an IP law firm. She joined Beau de Loménie in 1993.
Ever since, Aurélia MARIE is specialized in the law of distinctive signs (trademarks, company names, trade names, domain names), designs and copyright. Her expertise includes obtaining rights, as well as their exploitation and protection. She has also become renowned for her expertise in the field of audit of trademark portfolios, designs, contracts, advertising law and unfair competition. Additionally, she works in the fields of mediation and arbitration. Aurélia co-heads the Trademarks, Designs, Copyrights and Domain Names Department with Emmanuelle MACHINET. This department is composed of forty professionals who assist companies of all sizes, from all industrial sectors, to protect, secure and optimise their IP rights.
Aurélia MARIE is a member of FICPI, ACPI, APRAM, INTA, ECTA, AIPPI and PTMG. She has held the position of secretary, and then president of the AIPPI French group for several years. She remains very active in several AIPPI committees (Trademarks, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Practices and Procedures of the Offices). She regularly intervenes as a speaker during major annual IP congresses.
In addition, Aurelia Marie is a regular lecturer on the Masters degree course in applied IP law, directed by Christophe Caron (Faculty of Law, University of Paris XII). She also writes for the legal and IP press, in particular in the Dictionnaire permanent (1987–2004), Getting the Deal Through—France (2008, 2009), World Trademark Review (2009), Managing IP (since 2009), Lexis Nexis (since 2010) and WIPR (since 2014).
Aurélia MARIE has been recognised for several years by the professional press for her expertise in IP (Legal 500 EMEA 2021, WTR 1000 2021, MIP/IP Star 2021, WIPR Leaders 2020). She was ranked in the Top 250 “Woman In IP” in 2019 and 2021.
