Pierre BALESTA is a European and French patent attorney. He has been a partner since 2012.

Pierre began in a research institute and in the industry before joining Mazars as an auditor. Then, he joined Beau de Loménie in 2003.

His expertise includes innovation protection, legal opinions on patent infringement and validity, as well as all issues surrounding innovation strategy (contracts, audits and due diligence, IP portfolio management). He also has a recognized expertise in opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office, and has handled significant patent litigation in France and abroad. Pierre served for six years as a member of the jury of the French qualification exam (EQF) in industrial property, “patents” category.

Pierre now heads the Lille branch office, which is composed of over fifteen professionals who advise and support startups, SMEs, and large companies, in France and abroad.

For several years, Pierre has been recommended by the professional press for his expertise in the fields of patents (Legal 500 EMEA 2024, WWL Thought Leaders 2024, WIPR Leaders 2023, IAM Patent 1000 2023, Décideurs Magazine 2024). He is a member of AIPPI, LES, and EPLIT (European Patent Litigators Association).
