Mathieu DUFOUR is a European Patent Attorney at Beau de Loménie, Lille office.

Mathieu began his IP career as a patent attorney at Beau de Loménie in 2015.

Mathieu’s area of practice is patents. He advises major players in industry sectors including sporting goods and leisure articles (production and distribution), and civil engineering (foundations and soil technologies), mainly in the field of mechanics. He also acts on behalf of a major French independent research and innovation centre specialising in the development of electrical power systems (high-voltage direct current ‘HVDC’ grid). He also provides advice and assistance to SMEs belonging to the dynamic and expansive industrial network of the Hauts-de-France region.

Mathieu’s expertise covers the acquisition of IP rights (drafting and filing patent applications), as also exploitation and value optimisation thereof. Given his experience, he is able to deal effectively with all issues surrounding infringement, patent validity, and freedom-to-operate studies. Additionally, he acts for clients in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office-EPO.
