Éric has more than sixteen years of experience in industrial property. He specialises in materials science and received a strong education in physics and chemistry during his engineering studies at ESPCI Paris – PSL, with a strong emphasis on experimental work in the school’s research laboratories.
Éric assists French and international companies in obtaining and defending their patent rights. He has extensive experience in drafting patent applications in both English and French, as well as in examination proceedings in Europe and other jurisdictions. He regularly represents clients in opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and has developed considerable expertise in this area, along with a high success rate.
His practice notably covers composite materials, particularly the protection of innovations relating to their manufacture or structure, protective coatings for turbine components, oxidation protection for carbon composites, and phenolic resins for space applications. He also handles inventions in the field of additive manufacturing, metallurgy as well as precision products and equipment for the dental sector.

He also provides internal training within the firm and regularly gives presentations and webinars to clients, notably on the Unified Patent Court, opt-outs, unitary patents, infringement seizure proceedings (“saisies-contrefaçon”), and opposition and appeal proceedings before the EPO. He previously served as an examiner and member of the examination board for the French qualifying examination (EQF) for five years, from 2019 to 2023.
In addition, Éric is a member of the Board of EPLIT (European Patent Litigators Association).
