Beau de Loménie is pleased to announce the appointment of Vincent GILBEY, Éric LAÏK and Jacques VERRUE to the partnership, effective 1 September 2026. These appointments are part of the Firm’s continued expansion and demonstrate its commitment to supporting internal career development and recognising the wealth of expertise within its teams.
Vincent GILBEY and Jacques VERRUE will now join Didier INTÈS in leading the Mechanical Engineering Patent Department. Éric LAÏK will lead the Chemistry, Pharmacology and Biology Department.

Recognised Expertise within the Firm
Vincent GILBEY holds engineering degrees from Arts et Métiers and Cardiff University. He is a European and French Patent Attorney and a Representative before the Unified Patent Court. He joined Beau de Loménie in 2013 and has since built a wide-ranging practice covering the protection, strategic development and enforcement of patent portfolios across numerous technical sectors. He has particular experience in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office and in patent disputes before both national courts and the Unified Patent Court.
A graduate of ESPCI Paris – PSL and Sciences Po, Éric LAÏK is a European and French Patent Attorney and a Representative before the Unified Patent Court. He joined Beau de Loménie in 2013 and focuses primarily on materials science. He has considerable experience in opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and also serves on the Board of EPLIT, the European Patent Litigators Association.
Jacques VERRUE is an engineering graduate of École Polytechnique and ENSTA Paris and holds a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law. He is a European and French Patent Attorney and a Representative before the Unified Patent Court. He joined Beau de Loménie in 2012. Since 2022, he has led the development of the Firm’s practice in France’s Grand Est region, while continuing to advise French and international clients on patent strategy, innovation protection, IP audits, and pre-litigation and litigation matters, including cases before the Unified Patent Court.
Through these appointments, Beau de Loménie is strengthening the governance of its patent departments and reaffirming its commitment to providing clients in France and internationally with rigorous, multidisciplinary and long-term support.
