A partner at Beau de Lom\u00e9nie, he is based in Strasbourg (FR) and heads the firm\u2019s Strasbourg branch office.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of his master\u2019s degree in sciences and engineering, Jacques specialised in nuclear reactor physics and worked on the development of a composite fuel for small modular reactors (SMRs). This research resulted in a scientific publication. He began his career in IP in 2012 when he joined Beau de Lom\u00e9nie and became a partner of the firm in September 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Jacques advises companies of all sizes, research institutes and technology transfer organisations, both in France and internationally, on the definition and implementation of their IP strategies. He is particularly involved in high-stakes or technically complex matters, whether building and managing patent portfolios, protecting high-value inventions or defending his clients\u2019 rights. He advises clients throughout the patent lifecycle, from identifying inventions and drafting patent applications through to their commercialisation and enforcement. He also conducts freedom-to-operate analyses and audits and assists clients in pre-litigation and litigation matters before both the French courts and the Unified Patent Court. Jacques also has extensive experience in proceedings before the European Patent Office (EPO), including oral proceedings in examination, opposition and appeal cases. His practice also encompasses the patent protection of computer-implemented inventions, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Jacques currently co-heads the firm\u2019s Mechanical Engineering Patent Department alongside Didier Int\u00e8s and Vincent Gilbey. The department comprises around thirty professionals who advise French and international companies of all sizes, particularly in the automotive, aeronautics and aerospace industries, as well as in the fields of mechanical engineering, energy, high technology, consumer products and medical devices.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Jacques is involved in patent law education and training, both at CEIPI, where he teaches on saisie-contrefa\u00e7on proceedings and recent developments in European patent law, and in universities. After many years of training candidates for the French IP qualification exam in the field of patents, he has served as a member of the examination board since 2025.
