Romania joined the Unitary Patent \u00a0(UP) Unified Patent Jurisdiction (UPC) system on September 1, 2024, and becomes the 18th member state of this system. However, this change has no effect on UPs registered before this date, for which the territorial scope remains unchanged and therefore does not include Romania.<\/p>\n

The list of member states of the BU and JUB system is now as follows: Austria; Belgium; Bulgaria; Denmark; Estonia; Finland; France; Germany; Italy; Latvia; Lithuania; Luxembourg; Malta; Netherlands; Portugal; Romania; Slovenia and Sweden.<\/p>\n
