It triggers the countdown for the launch of the\u00a0<b>unitary patent jurisdiction<\/b>\u00a0(UPC) and of the\u00a0<b>unitary patent<\/b>\u00a0system (UP) which will happen on\u00a0<b>1 June 2023<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-build-content\" data-testid=\"MtRtXsMRrsQu\">It also launches the start of the \u00ab sunrise period \u00bb on\u00a0<b>1 March 2023<\/b>, during which proprietors of European patents without unitary effect shall be able to avoid the competence of the UPC by filing a\u00a0<b>request for opting out<\/b>, commonly referred to as<b>\u00a0an opt-out<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-build-content\" data-testid=\"MtRtXsMRrsQu\">Our teams are available for any further information and advice on the forthcoming changes and on the various actions to be considered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was the final missing piece of the puzzle!
